Brass

The brass family includes Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn and Tuba, and they all use a metal mouthpiece and a metal instrument to achieve a brilliant and vibrant sound. We teach brass instruments to students ages 10 and up.

Lessons cover proper warm ups, air and sound production, range and tone, sight reading, harmony, and music theory. Each student is given the opportunity to play a solo at our Student Recital, and the trumpet ensemble will perform selections that have been worked on throughout the course of the semester.

The brass band class meets on Tuesday night at 6:30pm-8pm and is open to all ages (begins August 1 at Union Church of Cupertino). Musicians are asked to bring your own stand.
